Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – V

the letter V

Victory –Who doesn’t like a good win, we know that Charlie Sheen does and I don’t think that he’s alone. I’m a pretty sore loser, but I balance that out by also being super obnoxious when I win. I won’t apologize for this, it’s just the way things are. I am very competitive and this is why sometimes people will just take their ball and go home when we play something.

Ok, it’s the weekend so nobody is going to read this, but I’ll put in a modest effort anyway.

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – R

Another day, another letter. Today we have R and like always I am fighting the urge to write only about different foods. I don’t know why that is my go to topic, but I’ve stayed away most of the time because it disturbs me. Speaking of that, here are some other disturbing topics. Read the rest of this entry »

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – Q

Today is a bit of a tough one, but there are still plenty of topics to choose from. Not to spoil what’s coming, but I will not be writing about Quizno’s because their food is terrible. Heating up every kind of sub does not make it better. Read the rest of this entry »

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – P

old-english-printable-letter-p

We’re just about in the home stretch, only ten days to go after this one. I see that pizza has already been used for the letter P, but I’d just like to make a quick mention of buffalo chicken pizza. It is the king of the pizza family, but here are some other P’s.

Prayer – It does not matter who or what you pray to, that isn’t the point. There have been studies done showing that prayer can affect things like the growth of microorganisms and plants. It has also been shown to aid human patients. In my opinion, people are missing the point of this one as they spend time arguing over which religion is the correct one instead of just believing in something.

Pray to God, Allah, Yahweh, Buddha or nature. Just put good intentions out there.

Portlandia – A sketch comedy show put together by Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. The show is set in Portland, Oregon and centers around the eccentric tendencies of the population of the area. Everything that I have heard about Portland makes me think that I would love to live there and this show is no exception. It is also hilarious and I recommend it for anyone who likes a good laugh.

Put a bird on it.

“Pinball Wizard” by The Who – The Who are one of the best rock bands of all time and this is one of their more popular songs. If you listen to a classic rock station for more than half an hour, you will most likely hear this song.

Enjoy your trip down rock’s memory lane and make sure to come back for more tomorrow, we’re doing Q so it could get interesting. Here is the rest of P.  HERE

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – O

O-400

Here we go again, time for the letter O. I’d like to take a moment to thank anyone who has been showing up every day to read my alphabetical nonsense. If you like it then you’re in luck and if you don’t…well, it will be over pretty soon. Read the rest of this entry »

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – M

letter_m

Alright I’m a day behind so we’re going to play a doubleheader today. If I remember my alphabet correctly, I have M down for the next post and here it is.

Meister’s Market – This was a small German meat market on Ontario Street in Albany that was owned and operated by my family (Meister is my mother’s maiden name) up until a few years ago. It was very popular locally and since they sold the business I have not found another hot dog worth eating.

Current business operating out of the former Meister's Market.

Mount Marcy – This is the tallest mountain in the Adirondacks at 5,343 feet. Of course I have climbed it because I’m hard like that. (Also because there is a well marked trail that anyone in even moderately good physical condition can navigate.) I used to do a lot of hiking and hope to get back into it, hopefully my son will enjoy it when he gets old enough.

Here is Mt. Marcy as seen from Haystack mountain.

“Mahna Mahna” by The Muppets – I dare you to listen to this song and then try not to annoy the hell out of anyone around you. You’re going to sing it and you’re going to hate yourself for it.

Short and sweet for this one, watch in just moments as my post for N pops up on the reader.

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – L

I’m only half awake after a fantasy baseball draft that went very late last night. I make no promises for today, but I guess that differs in no way from any other post. I’m going to throw a few things out and we’ll see where it ends up. Read the rest of this entry »

Sfoxwriting Alphabet Challenge – J

It’s day number ten for anyone keeping track. I like the way that things have gone so far, it’s a little bit different than the way that I would format my blog otherwise but it’s interesting…to me at least. It is probably a bit self indulgent but so is every blog ever written. So here comes J: Read the rest of this entry »
